Our Process
Once we begin your nanny search, prospective candidates are recruited and screened for your job. We save you time by referring nannies who are qualified and interested in your needs. the process to find a nanny is as follows:
1)An initial consultation with our staff to find out what your needs are. We will cover your weekly schedule, nanny’s job responsibilities, childcare philosophies and qualities that you would like to see in your ideal nanny. We recommend that this consultation be in your home however, it can be done on the phone if preferred. A non-refundable application fee of $100 is collected at the time of the parent consultation (this $100 fee is deducted from your overall placement fee and is not additional).
2)Annie’s Nannies will then send you information on the nannies who we think suit your family the best. You choose which nannies you would like to interview and we will set up an interview for you for whatever date and time works best for your family.
3) Once you interview the nannies, we will set up a phone call with you to discuss the prospective candidates and go over any questions or concerns.
4) Once you find a candidate whom you feel strongly about, we ask that you proceed with a second interview. We will also schedule this interview and request that everyone in your family be included. We recommend to set up a two-three hour working trial, however the applicant must be paid for her work time.
5) Once you have decided upon a nanny and the candidate you have chosen accepts your job, the reminder of the agency fee is due. This is a one-time fee that will "reserve" your hiree (we won't send her out on other interviews).
6) We will help you put together a work agreement which will outline the nannies responsibilities and requirements.
7) After you have hired a nanny, we will provide on going support and will always be here to answer any questions that you may have.
**Our promise to you: We offer a 60 day guarantee for permanent placements and a 30 day guarantee for temporary placements (summer/winter break nannies) . If for some reason your nanny doesn't work out within that window, we will find you a replacement for no additional charge.**
MORE ABOUT OUR SCREENING AND BACKGROUND CHECKS
Our basic criteria for a nanny is that he/she undergo our in-depth screening process which includes having 3+ childcare related references that can be verified, the ability to work legally in the United States and, in most cases, have a car. Nannies are required to become certified in infant and child CPR and submit to drug testing at the family's request. Since each family has individual needs, we rely on the family to give us their own specific criteria for their "ideal" nanny.
- Comprehensive Application
Nannies are required to complete an extensive application and questionnaire. - Personal Interview
Annie’s Nanneis speaks directly with all nanny candidates - in most cases personally, and occasionally over the phone. Because of our experience with interviewing and placing nannies, we are often able to spot red flags. - References Personally Verified
References are personally verified by Annie’s Nannies which are then provided to you along with the nanny's complete application and profile. - Thorough Background Check
Before Annie's Nannies reccomends anyone for a placement they have undergone our screening process. Nannies are hired conditionally, pending the outcome of an additional SLED background investigation. We recommend delaying the nanny's first day of employment until the SLED background check has been completed. A drug test is available per the client's request.
OUR REPLACEMENT POLICIES
Annie’s Nannies LLC takes its role in your nanny search very seriously. We are not concerned with how many placements we make, but making good placements. In some cases, we have even counseled families against hiring a nanny. We will be with you every step of the way and remain in contact with you for follow ups even after you have hired!
Annie’ Nannies requires and helps families write their "Nanny/Family Agreement" - which can also be a valuable tool when interviewing nannies. The replacement policies and Nanny/Family Agreement are fully reviewed when a family enlists our services. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to schedule a consultation. We look forward to working with you to find a nanny and welcome the opportunity to serve you!
* If you have a serious concern about a nanny that is referred to you after you speak with her, please call our office immediately. We will make every effort to find an alternate candidate.
