About the Owner

Kylie Cross has always adored children. Her first job as a kids’ fitness coordinator and children’s party planner really paved the way for her passion to work with kids. Throughout her years at The College of Charleston she would nanny and babysit local families while accomplishing her degree in Media Communications. During that time her mother (Annie), was a live-in nanny in Charleston and Kylie’s younger sister (Lyndsey) would spend her weekends taking Kylie’s overflow of babysitting jobs; many friends would joke that the Cross girls were “professional babysitters”. Soon the excess of incoming childcare jobs stretched to Kylie’s roommates and good friends. She and her mother founded Annie’s Nannies in early 2012 as a referral based service. Their small group of sitters stayed busy, and were constantly being placed with families that knew of Annie’s Nannies only through word of mouth. As the demand grew for great childcare so did Annie’s Nannies. Kylie now owns and operates the rising business and although many may perceive Annie’s Nannies as a child care “agency”, Kylie prefers to reference it as a “network”. It started out with a selective hand-picked group of wonderful caring people, and it’s Annie’s Nannies mission to keep it that way.
